About Boron Phosphide BP Powder :
Boron phosphide is an inorganic compound that is composed of boron elements and phosphorus. This material belongs to the class known as a semiconductor material. Henri Moisan, an French chemist who created crystals from boronphosphate in 1891. Although Boronphosphide doesn't react to boiling concentrated acids or base solutions, it may react after heating with molten bas (e.g. sodium hydroxide). Boron-phosphide reacts well with chlorine gas up to 500 degC and is therefore resistant to oxygenation. While the compound will remain stable under pressure of 2500degC at high temperature, partial phosphorous can be lost by vacuum heating of more than 1100degC. This results in B12p11.8 which has a crystal structure similar to that for boron caride.
Because of the many production processes, boron-phosphide comes in different colors: red transparent, dark transparent, black crystal, soft brown amorphous, and so forth. Chemically stable. While Boron phosphide will not react to boiling concentrated acid, alkali solution or any alkali solution, it is capable of reacting with moltenalkali (such sodium hydroxide).
Preheating is not necessary. Boron Phosphide can be exposed to air and is highly resistant to oxygen below 1000°C. It also reacts well with chlorine at 500°C.
It can remain stable at 2500°C under high pressure. Some phosphorus may be lost by vacuum heating to 1100°C.
Get B12P1.8. It has the same crystal structure as boron caride.
