It is a yellowish powder. This is achieved by adding acid to the soda ash after the fusion.

It is a light yellow, orthorhombic crystal powder. As the powder is heated, it changes color from lighter to darker. It has a specific gravity of 7.16 grams per cm3, a melting point of 1473degC, whereas the boiling point at 1750degC is 17.50degC. The temperature at which it melts is 850degC. It becomes subliminal and green. It is stable in air and insoluble with water and other inorganic acids, except hydrofluoric, and can slowly dissolve in ammonia solution and concentrated sodium hydroxide solution.

Alkalis is used to make WO from tungsten ore. Durch further reactions with carbon and hydrogen gases, tungsten dioxide can be reduced to pure gold.
Tungsten(VII) oxide can be found in nature as hydrates. This includes minerals such as tungstite WA3*H2O or meymacite WA3*2H2O as well as hydrotungstite (of similar composition to meymacite but sometimes referred as H2WO4). These secondary tungsten mineral minerals can only be found as rare or very scarce.

How is Tungsten Oxide WO3 Powder produced?
Tungsten trioxide is prepared in many different ways. The CaWO4 (or Scheelite) can react with HCl in order to make tungstic acid. It then decomposes at high temperatures to WO3 or water.

An alternative method of synthesizing WO3 in common is to calcinate ammonium para-tungstate under oxidizing conditions.
