Overview of Boron nitride Powder

Boron nitride industrial powder is a pure white ceramic material with the same hexagonal crystal structure to graphite. Boron nitride has the ability to withstand temperatures in excess of 2,000 degrees Celsius. Based on the grade of the material, its dielectric strength could be around 1000 volts/millimeter. Boron nitride is hot pressed in its form as billets, which are easily transformed into rods, plates, and even custom-designed shapes .

In terms of optical application, due to the toughness of the c-BN films and the extremely high transmission across the length range from ultraviolet(from about 200 nm)to the far infrared range, it is suitable as a coating on the surface of some optical components, and is particularly suitable as a coating of window material such as zinc selenide(ZnSe)and zinc sulfide(ZnS).In in addition, it has excellent resistance to thermal shock and is hard, and is expected to be an ideal window material for high power detection and lasers.
